Born on the island of Nevis, West Indies, Angie Vazquez is a passionate artist, specializing in pencil portraiture, currently living and working in Orlando, Florida. Mostly self-taught, Angie has always carried a deep love for creating art. She discovered her artistic talent at an early age but although she dreamed of attending art school, circumstances led her down a different path, first into teaching and later into a career as a computer professional.
After moving to the United States in her early twenties, her artistic journey truly began when she started seeking out resources through books and later online to nurture her creativity. Countless hours of exploration led her to the Pencil Kings website, where she later connected with artist Kevin Murphy and was later invited to join the Evolve Artist program at its launch in May 2018. This program has since become a cornerstone of her development, helping her refine her skills and broaden her artistic vision.
Even before formal study, Angie was creating graphite portraits for friends and family, capturing likeness and personality with remarkable sensitivity. Today, her work continues to reflect that same heartfelt connection, blending technical skill with an intimate understanding of her subjects.
